"I was teleported here by accident in my own time." Reimi replied, giving an indicator that she was not from this time. "I was able to acquire a big house from what my so-called ancestors would get."

"Wait, so you're from the future or something?" Jason asked. He was purely confused now, she didn't look like she was from the future at all... She looked well...normal. Could that be why she's timid and shy? He thought.

"Yes, I'm from the future." Reimi answered, looking away. "My very existence threatens the very fabric of time and space. The Earth just got past the third World War and humans are isolated underground because the air would kill us all, so we looked to space for new worlds suitable for colonization." she explained.

"So was there some reason or goal for you to come or was it some kind of an accident?" Jason asked. He wasn't totally sure if he believed her yet, but he was willing to look into it. Hey, he's seen weirder... And so had his Grandpa.

"I told you that it was an accident." Reimi answered, looking back at him. "I really don't want to be here, if you couldn't tell. Tell me, do you know if this city has teleportation technology?"

"Well teleportation is a thing of science fiction here..." Jason replied. "But perhaps you were guided to this time for some reason? It has to at least feel nice to be in a world where it hasn't been destroyed yet." he mentioned, to try to give some solace for the future girl. "If you need any help, I can definately help you." he said with a smile. "So in the future, do they still play Duel Monsters?"

"No, they don't." Reimi answered, shaking her head. "According to my time's history, it died out just before the World War, so around the time I was born. After that, most of the cards were destroyed and the two opposing factions destroyed the world pretty fast."

"Huh" Jason replied. "Well, the future seems kindof sad... So how do you know of Duel Monsters? Did you learn of it after coming here or did you know beforehand?" Jason asked curious of how she knew about the game then.

"I first learned of it through history and then after the teleportation accident, I see people with plenty of cards, so I decided to join the group and I started to duel." she explained, taking her deck back out. "History made it sound complex, but it really isn't."

"Huh, well the best way to do well in this timeline is to be able to play well with a deck. If you want after the next round, I could show you a few tricks and cards that can help you." Jason offered. But then he also got more curious, "I do have a question, just how badly was the Earth destroyed in the future?"

"Buildings that once stood tall are now half built, large parts of them on the ground, craters are everywhere. In some places, it's impossible to determine if any sentient life ever lived, anyone who goes topside don't make it very far because it's very contaminated with radiation, so there's a bunch of dead bodies everywhere." Reimi said, knowing she could go on, but she stopped. "To put it simply, this is the Japan I never knew and if the world war had never happened, it might have still looked this beautiful."

"I wonder," Jason thought aloud, "if perhaps you were sent here to change your future?" Jason was starting to believe her. To be honest, he really wanted to help her. But how was the big question.

"Is changing my future even possible?" she asked, unable to believe that the future could be changed. "I'm not sure anything I could will change the future, but if it can be changed, then I might fade from existence."

"I don't know... I saw it in a movie before." He replied. "So who are you ancestors?" He asked.

Reimi shook her head. "Nobody ever told me." she answered. "Mom and Dad just told me, along with two other kids that we'll make humanity proud and give them hope. After that, I started exploring other planets with a crew and while testing a teleporter, something went wrong and I ended up here."

"Huh." Jason replied simply. His stomach then growled loud enough that both of them heard. Jason laughed a bit. "I guess I'm a bit hungry. You want to go grab something to eat?" He asked the future girl.

"I'll go with you, but I don't think I'll be having anything." Reimi replied, motioning for him to go. "Lead the way, because I have no idea where I'm going." Someday, she did want to lead the way to see if she could get to her destination or just practice and get to know her way around of city.

"You're not hungry?" He asked as he began to lead the way. "Just wondering, any of the food in this time, is it like any of the food in the future?" He asked curiously. This girl was quite fastenating to him. Although he wasn't totally sure why yet.

"Surprisingly, most of the food is still in my time, despite everything being underground." she answered, following Jason. "Still, we didn't let the world war stop us from doing what we're passionate about."

"Huh, So then your just not hungry or can't afford food?" Jason asked. "Because if you can't afford it, I can pay for it if you want something."

"I'm not hungry, but I'll have a couple of drinks. Not any alcohol or anything like that." she answered, knowing it was kind of him offering to pay. "That's kind, but I'll just stick with drinks."

Jason began to wonder, if the game phased about about when she was born, then when was her deck from? "Say, then is your deck a current deck or some airloom you got from your family?" He asked. "What kind of drinks do you drink?"

"Actually, my deck has been around for a while according to this time." Reimi replied, letting him know the cards had been around for a while. "I drink anything that's not rotten. Why? Do you think there's different drinks in my time?"

"I mean did you acquire it in this time or was it in your family?" He clarified. Upon hearing her question he shrugged, "I don't know... I'm not sure how far in the future you're from anyway..."

"I acquired it in this time." Reimi said, knowing that no one had these kinds of cards in her time. "If I knew what year it was here, I could tell you how far back in the past I am."
