Jack road out on his Duel Runner to the arena. He was ready. The King is always ready for every challenge and this tournament was no different. He will crush anyone who opposed him. He parked his Runner and took his Duel Disk off. Lastly he swapped his Turbo Deck for his normal Power Deck. At last he was all ready, now he was simply waiting on his opponent.

Getting her duel disk on, Mina was going to show her superiors that she could duel. She didn't care if she won or jot, she just wanted to shut her superiors up. Upon reaching the arena, Mina saw her opponent was Jack, someone whom she had feelings for. Oh, this is bad. she thought, getting ready. I just hope I can end the duel in my favor if it comes to that.

Jack was not suprised that Mina was here to duel, but also noticed this would probably end up boring anyway. "Did you expect to lose your first match Mina? Why are you even in this tournament anyway?" He asked, his face not changing. He knew she had a crush on him, but he didn't mind too much, as long as it didn't change the outcome of this duel he was fine.

"I don't care if I win or lose, as that is not the reason I'm here." That could have turned out better. she thought. "Just because we've known each other for a while doesn't mean we can go easy on each other, got it?"

"I wasn't planning on it. Now enough talking, lets duel." Jack replied as he activated his Duel Disk. "Since you'll obviously will be heavily overwhelmed by the King, I'll humor you by allowing you to go first."

With Jack allowing her the first move, Mina drew five cards and then a sixth one to begin her turn. "I set 2 cards facedowns and then summon Haripe Channeler in attack mode." Three cards then appeared on her field. 2 concealing what she may hide and one monster, ready to attack. "I would end there, but I'm activating her special ability. By discarding a level 4 Wind monster, I can special summon one monster from my deck that has Harpie in its name, but it has to be in defense mode, so I'm discarding Harpie Queen to special summon Cyber Harpie Lady in defense mode. That ends my turn."

"Is that all you can do?" Jack declared. "Allow me to show you a real move. It's my turn!" He drew a card. "When I control no monsters and my Opponent does I can Special Summon Vice Dragon." The Dragon suddenly appeared, it's power drained to half. "Next I Summon the Tuner Monster Dark Resonator." The small fiend appeared and rang its tools. "Next I'm tuning my Level 5 Vice Dragon and my Level 3 Dark Resonator!" Dark Resonator rang it's tool again turning into the Synchronization waves, and surrounded Vice Dragon as it created a new Monster. "The Ruler's heartbeat now shall file through here! Bear witness to its creation shaking power! Synchro Summon! My Soul, Red Dragon Archfiend!" Suddenly fire engulfed where his monster was as his Dragon roared and revealed itself. "And I can already tell that you have a Trap there. With that knowledge, I activate Scarlet Security. Because I control a Face-up 'Red Dragon Archfiend, all your set Spell and Traps are destroyed!" Red Dragon Archfiend scratched over all of Mina's Face-down Spell and Traps, with intent to destroy.

Mina watched as her facedowns, Negate Attack and Safe Zone were destroyed. She now had no defense against the attack that she knew was coming. After watching Jack duel so many times, Mina knew he would attack one of her monsters.

Jack knew that even she knew what was coming next, so why pull out any more suspense? "Red Dragon Archfiend attack Harpie Channeler! Absolute Powerforce!" Red Dragon Archfiend's hand started on fire as it went right for Harpie Channeler.

As her monster was destroyed, Mina covered her face with her arm that had her duel disk. She knew she would lose life points this turn and she wondered what her next turn would bring. Hopefully for her, it would be something to turn the tide of the duel.

Jack looked confident as he placed 2 Facedown Spell or Traps on his field. "I set two Facedowns and end my turn. Now, lets see how far your deck can go before I end this game." He said, with a confident look on his face, almost too confident.

Mina said nothing as she drew her next card. With a Cyber Harpie Lady in defense mode and three cards in her hand, there wasn't much she could do. "I set one card facedown and then summon Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind. Right away, I'll activate Gale the Whirlwind's special ability. I select one monster on your field and its attack and defense points are halved permanently. That's it for me." It seemed like Mina was waiting for aomething. She didn't know which dueling style worked best, so she was experimenting.

Jack smerked. "When you summon that Tuner monster you triggered my Trap! Proof of the Powerless. Thanks to this, when I control a Level 7 or higher Monster, all of your Monsters that are Level 5 or lower are destroyed." He explained as his Trap activated destroying both of her Monsters. "Is that all?"

"Yes, that's all." Mina answered, ending her turn and having nothing else she could do. Mina guessed she would lose, but for now, she would wait until next turn to do something, although she would be losing a lot of Life Points.

"It's my turn!" Jack Declared. "I draw." He drew his card. "When I control a Level 8 or higher Synchro Monster, I can Special Summon Creation Resonator from my hand!" A new resonator monster appeared, and clanged its tools. "Next I summon Mad Archfiend in attack mode." A strange Archfiend monster appeared with a skull in its stomach area. "Next I'm tuning my Level 4 Mad Archfiend and my Level 3 Creation Resonator. I Synchro Summon Chaos King Archfiend!" The synchro Monster appeared and roared. It wasn't as strong as Red Dragon Archfiend, but it would slice off plenty more of Mina's Lifepoints.

Mina nodded. "Keep going, Jack." she replied, wanting to see what he could truly do. Of course, there was no way she was going to tell him that at all. She wanted him to go all out on his own, not with her telling him.

"Red Dragon Archfiend, attack her directly! Absolute Powerforce!" Red Dragon Archfiend's hand started on fire and rushed right at Mina. "Next Chaos King Archfiend, attack Mina Directly!" The second Archfiend followed up with its attack on her Lifepoints.

"During Red Dragon Archfiend's attack, I reveal my facedown Mirror Force." Mina replied, her facedown showing itself. "It's such a pity two of your best monsters won't be landing either of their attacks. Mirror Force will destroy both of them."

Jack simply pressed a button on his duel disk. "I activate the Counter Trap, Dark Bribe. Now you can Draw 1 Card and I get to negate your Mirror Force and destroy it." Jack explained as Mina's Mirror Force began to crumble away.

Watching her card crumble away, Mina took 5600 points of damage, but at least she would have 3 cards to use come her next turn. She would have to seriously step up her game if she wanted to win this duel. She hadn't made a dent in Jack's life points yet and if she was going to lose, she at least wanted to damage him a bit.

Jack rested his duel disk now. "I think that's enough damage from the King for now. It's your turn... Most likely your last one." Jack told her. "You'll need to do a lot more then that to win this duel. I would suggest playing a card that has some power to it." he mentioned. But he was already sure. He had all but won this round, even if she did get a lucky hit in.

"My turn. I draw." Mina said, drawing what could potentially be her last card. "I set two cards facedown and then I remove from play Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind and my Harpie Queen in order to special summon my Dark Simorgh in attack mode." In a couple of seconds after Mina placed the monster card on her duel disk, a huge black bird appeared on her field, ready for battle. "Guess what he does? He makes all your traps useless, hecause my opponent cannot Set any cards on the field, so if I were you, I would do everything I could to get rid of him. Dark Simorgh, attack his Chaos King Archfiend!" With a powerful flap from its wings, Dark Simorgh attacked with gusts, destroying its target and dealing a hundred points of damage. "I end my turn."

"I now reveal one of my facedowns, Anti-Spell Fragrance. With this trap, both players must Set spell cards before activating them and with Dark Simorgh on the field, you can't Set any cards at all. Good luck getting around this, Jack." Mina said, now confident she had the upper hand, despite having little Life Points left.
