Her parents: Since they are almost never home, it made her self-sufficient and independent. As a side effect though, it also means that she is rather awkward with social interactions.

While walking to the local card shop to see if she can restock her card collection, Rin noticed that a crowd is gathering. Her curiosity is getting the better of her, and so she decided to take a little peek at whatever is going on. As it turns out, a duel was taking place. She watched, in amazement, as the two duelists went back and forth with the match. Pretty soon though, one of the duelist has completely gotten the upper-hand by using a combination of Darkness Neosphere and Gravity Bind to lock down his opponent's attacks. The duel is soon over as the crowd disperses, and Rin has started her fantasizing mode. Namely, what would she had done if she was in the place of the duelist that lost. Well, for starters, Gravity Bind won't even work against her... Eventually though, she has came to the conclusion that she would have had a 70% chance of winning had she been dueling instead. Feeling a little bit more pleased than before, she continued her way to the shop.
