Divine sat at his large wooden desk on the 74th floor of the Arcadia Movement HQ. in a plush leather backed office chair he leaned back, hearing a satisfying Squeak, he closed his eyes. "Someday all of my work... will pay dividends" He though as he opened his eyes and leaned the chair forward. once again the chair squeaked in protest.
Divine put both arms on his maple Desk, it had just recently been waxed and had a shine almost well enough for him to see his reflection. He placed is hands on head palms inward rubbing his temples on his head, being a psychic did cause wear and tear on the body.. but he would never show it to anyone. Being the leader of the Arcadia movement was a demanding position he had so many people who trusted him or were forced to trust him threw one means or another.
Divine stood up from his office chair pushed it under the desk and took a look around his office. it was a large room, perhaps he mused "office isn't quite the right word. maybe sanctum is more appropriate?" "yes that will do nicely, my sanctum a place away from the rabble, the intrigue" the sanctum was rectangular in shape. with polished wood walls and soft carpet on the floor. there was one wall that was all glass perfectly kept, no streaks or stains upon it at all.
Divine approached the glass wall and began to stare down. 74 floors was a very long way down. he could not make out any particular people from this distance, they all appeared to be ants scurrying around Neo Domino. Divine again took both of his hands and rubbed his temples, the headache was returning. although not as bad as before it was a minor annoyance, although a minor annoyance to Divine would most likely be unimaginable agony to those less powerful and less capable.
as he rubbed his head he could hear a small thud on the glass wall. and then another, and yet more. it snapped him from his daydream and headache long enough see rain drops. first is small batches, then heavier as the storm picked up momentum. it had just been a bright sunny day only minutes ago and now a storm was directly overhead, and pouring rain. the ants below on the streets began to scatter some actually were prepared and opened umbrellas.
"expect the unexpected" Divine shrugged as began to walk across the carpeted floor to one of his large rolling bookcases. as he was about to select one the books the phone on his desk lit up and began to ring. Divine cursed as he went to the desk and picked up the phone, "Divine you need to come down here.... the results..." *hissing* "the results..." *more hissing* Divine cursed "damn phone" and slammed the phone onto its base, nearly breaking it. Divine reached into the left pocket of his button down shirt and pulled a credit card sized card from it. the card had many holes cut into it so that a computer could read it.
Divine walked to the final wall of his sanctum and on this wall was very bland silvery metal and an elevator. he took the card key and inserted it into the elevators slot. The doors hissed open and slid closed. "please select your destination" came a cheerful automated voice "Basement labs" Divine said "and on the double" he spat as the elevator began the 74 floor decent to the ground level plus another 5 more to the labs.
after 4 minutes of coming down the elevator Divine arrived in the Arcadia Labs. the doors hissed open and Divine was greeted with the smell of disinfectant and burnt air. "thank you sir for coming so quickly" one of the lab techs dressed in a white coat said. "Speak, what is so wrong that you bother me so?" Divine queried. "the storm.. I thought you might want to know..." the tech wheezed he then collapsed to the ground in a heap before Divine.
Divine scoffed and stepped over the tech "should i pretend to care?" he though trying to get passed the body quickly. then he approached the lead researcher "looks like good help is hard to find?" Divine questioned pointing to the body on the floor "Bah" the lead researcher replied with a snort "all worthless but.. this is not.." the professor as he liked to be called responded taking a drink of coffee from his mug and wiping his lips clean. "the machine is complete, and the card you let me borrow... Storm Caller... Preformed Nicely" the professor and Divine Laughed heartily as Divine picked up his monster Card storm Caller and placed it back into his deck, "The power of a psychic is not to be trifled with" Divine said a shrug. "Divine," the professor called to him "no that's not entirely true. only 1 out of 10,000 is a psychic. and of those that are... very few are able to even cause their spells to activate out of a duel, at most they can do parlor tricks" Divine laughed at this, the professor continued "but people of your caliber.. the limits are unknown" Divine shrugged and with a smirk said "Arcadia is here to form a bright future for all.." he lied as he pulled a different card from his deck. and held it up "I think I will take the quicker way back to my sanctum this time" Divine said "Teleport" and with a bright flash he was back in his office, and once again staring out the glass wall.. and the receding storm. "All goes according to plan" he though
