Realizing that due to Reimi's monster's effect he could not activate his set card Divine was forced to watch his Psychic commander be destroyed in the attack. His lifepoints dropped to 6700. Then he realized that with his commander gone nothing could protect his thought ruler. "she shows great skill. But will it be enough?" he thought as he knew his ace monster would be gone soon.

Having nothing stopping her from clearing his field, Reimi knew she could go on the offensive. "Ancient Gear Gadjiltron Dragon, attack Thought Ruler Archfiend!" she ordered, seeing another successful attack. "I set 2 cards facedown and end my turn."

"a successful turn" Divine said "you were able to destroy both of my monsters in one turn." he said "its my turn, I draw" he said "perfect. I activate the spell card miracle synchro fusion. I can fusion summon a monster that requires a synchro monster as material by removing them from my graveyard" Divine said "I remove my Thought Ruler and krebons from my grave to fusion summon Ultimate Axon Kicker" he said.

"Very well." Reimi replied, looking at it. "It is a powerful monster, but I'm afraid that my Gadjiltron Dragon can still beat it." She did wonder why he would summon a monster weaker than her strongest. It made her what he had planned.

It allows my monster to gain attack points equal to the difference in our lifepoints. Currently you have 200 more than I raising my monsters attack to 3100. Enough to destroy your dragon." Divine laughed "my Thought Ruler lives on in the embodiment of this great beast. As it can not be destroyed by card effects" he stated

She still knew she had a monster that could still beat it, but for now, she had to watch. "Keep going, that may be a beast and powerful, but not unstoppable." Reimi said, looking at it. "I will take it down."

"go my great beast bring your destructive force to bear." Divine said "turn her dragon to scrap metal. Ultimate Psychic Strike" he said as his beast let out a powerful roar and rushed forth to take down Reimi's Dragon

"I reveal my Scrap-Iron Scarecrow." Reimi replied, one of her facedowns revealing itself. "This card will negate your attack and then instead of going to the graveyard, it goes back facedown for another use."

Nightshroud sensed a power coming from Reimi as she was dueling. It fastenated him. "I must find what energy this is" he mentioned. He then smiled as he took control of an Arcadia Movement flunky. The Psychic glowed with Darkness as he walked in and faced Reimi. He then activated his Duel Disk and activated Gorgon's Eye and used his power to make its effect real so he could use it on Reimi.

Divine could see Shawn walk into his office. as he was about to yell at him for interrupting his duel. Divine sensed he was being controlled by Nightshroud. he thought nothing of it."perhaps he thinks I can't finish the task he has assigned?" he pondered for a moment. then he saw Shawn activate his duel disk. before he could say or do anything he placed a card on his duel disk and Reimi began to turn to stone. as he watched her turn to stone he felt nothing. "so that energy I felt emanating off of her was not latent psychic energy was it?" he questioned "I suspect you have or will have an answer soon?" Divine questioned to Nightshroud's puppet

"No" Nightshroud replied. "I turned her into a statue at this moment because the energy is near its peak. This will hold it there while I have a quick look at what this energy is. It is not natural energy like a Psychic may have... It is something completely different." Nightshroud spoke through his puppet. His avatar then appeared and walked over to the statue with a shocked expression frozen on her face. He held out his hands and put them on her stone shoulders as his eyes glowed purple. After a moment, he released her stone form. "Interesting... I have to check into this more... but do not push her to her limit. She seems to have a power that is similar to a Signer, yet she is not one. While she is not one, you are able to control her. But if her birthmark appears, she will no longer be able to be manipulated by us as your mind control powers are based in the Darkness and she is not a Psychic which you can twist." He told Divine. "Make sure this duel ends with no victor. If we can put commands into her before her mark appears, it will be very useful later on when it does." He turned to Divine. "I want you to put suggestions in her to ensure that when its time for her to become a Shining Signer, in the fight against us, she will become ours. Now I'll leave you to your duel." The avatar vanished and Shawn left the room and removed the card from his Duel Disk, which slowly returned Reimi to being normal flesh again. With no idea of what had just occurred. Then Nightshroud released Shawn from his control for now. "Remember Divine." He mentioned mentally to the leader of the Movement, "Do not let her know that she has powers like that. And make sure that during your duel they do not activate."

Feeling like no time has passed, Reimi drew her next card. "I set another card facedown and end my turn." she said, being unable to do anything since Divine's monster was stronger than both of her monsters.

Divine shook his head as Nightshroud left his mind. he stared at the field once again assessing his situation. "I draw" he said adding another card to his hand "I set one card facedown" he said placing a card into his duel disk "and I end my turn, I will draw the card I need to destroy your scrap Iron Scarecrow. but for now that card eludes me." he said

Looking at both of their fields, Reimi guessed something big was about to happen, but she didn't know when it would. "I draw." she said, taking a good look at it. "I switch both of my monsters to defense mode to end my turn." For now, she had to play it safe and find a way to get rid of her opponent's monster.

"I draw" Divine said adding another card to his hand, he studied the card then formulated a strategy. "I summon the monster Psychic Snail to the field" he said as a snail with lightning bolts comming out of its antenna appeared on his field. "this monster can allow another psychic on my field to attack twice per turn. at a cost of 800 lifepoints." He said laughing knowing that Reimi's trap only works once per turn "I use my snail's effect on my Ultimate Axon Kicker." he said as his lifepoints reduced to 5600 "and now my monster's attack increases even further. to 3900" he laughed "go forth Ultimate Axon Kicker attack her Dragon." he said pointing at her Gadjiltron Dragon

"I reveal my Scrap-Iron Scarecrow again!" Reimi exclaimed, as if on cue. "Once again, it negates your attack and then sets itself back facedown." Now, she only had the next attack to worry about. These people had some nerve to take her like a hostage and bring her here.

"I reveal my Magic Cylinder trap card. This trap will negate your attack and your monster's attack points will be deducted from your Life Points." Reimi said, smiling.

Divine had a smirk on his face as his monster prepared to attack for the second time. then the smirk turned into a shocked look. "impossible" he said as the attack was reflected back at himself. his lifepoints now at 1,700. his monsters attack points rose to the max allowed by psychic sword 4900. "your skill is good. but do you honestly believe you can beat me? I am in complete control. you are able to take the lead because I allow it." he said smirk widening "it was a test to see if you grow overconfident in the face of victory. you have passed this test, and now the next begins." Divine said having gauged her skill he was impressed. "I end my turn. "

"Tests?" Reimi asked, now wondering what he meant by tests as she drew her next card. "I know you say I have psychic powers, but I can't materialize cards like you can and I've only been shunned by reality once." Maybe she would eventually find out what he meant or maybe she wouldn't, but as long as she won this duel, she would be able to find out all the information she needed. "I switch Ancient Gear Beast to attack mode and I'll have it attack Psychic Snail! Go and destroy one of my troubles!"

"I grow weary. you have enough skill for what I need you to do" Divine said "behold the power of the ultimate psychic" he said as he extended his right arm and Reimi's monster stopped. midway toward attacking his snail. "you have proven your worth. strength,tenacity,dedication. but I suspect you will not serve me willingly. I told you I thought you were a psychic, which on it's face is a lie. your not psychic at all, just a pathetic misguided human like the rest. this duel's purpose was to wear you down mentally.. to make you more susceptible to mind control." Divine laughed "and it worked perfectly I can sense the fear and weakness in your mind." He said laughing further.
"your next test." Divine snickered "is your resistance to brain control.." he trailed off momentarily as a cloud of black smoke surrounded Divine as he assumed his Dark Signer attire."it begins right now"Divine said as he extended his left hand out toward Reimi his purple mark glowing on his arm. "resistance is futile you know, I am a master of the Darkness, and with my psychic powers I will dominate your mind. you will serve me unquestioningly." Divine said with a smirk as a cloud of darkness came forth from his outstretched hand and began to float toward Reimi"

"the smoke comming toward you is another representation of my powers. not psychic, but darkness." Divine explained keeping his focus on her intently. watching the smoke grow closer to its target. "it will consume your mind and make you my puppet. I know you will be facing your new friend Jason in the next round of the tournament. I have a score to settle with him. and instead of risking my Movement members.. you will fill the role perfectly, with some modification of course" Divine laughed "Jason has been a thorn in my side for too long now. and you being near him also makes you my enemy. so I will destroy you both with one stroke." Divine laughed as the smoke reached her feet, it circled about her feet ominously for a few momements. Divine clenched his fist and began to slowly raise his fist upward. the smoke followed his fist slowly. "ah the moment is nearly here. the moment when your service to the Arcadia Movement.. no your service to me begins." he said as the smoke then began to consume her mid-section. "I can hardly wait for the look on Jason's face when he sees. he will ask are you ok.. did they hurt you.. and you will answer no.. like a good pet" Divine laughed.
"then when your duel is nearly ready to begin. the facade will crack, you will place the Arcadia Movement pin I will give you on your lapel. and he will realize you are in my service. such an exciting moment" Divine said with a evil smile comming across his face. "Jason will not know what to do. a victim of a trap I have created. with no escape this time." as Divine said this the smoke reached her head. it began to enter her nose,ears, and mouth. every time she tried to breath she took in even more of the smoke. "do you feel weak yet?" he asked watching her attempt to breathe. "I would have much prefered you to serve me willingly. but you sought answers I was and even now are unwilling to give. this fate that is befalling you is of your own doing. not mine." Divine told her
