Placido heard his name called over the intercom in the duel stadium. he walked toward where his duel would be taking place. as he walked he saw several duels taking place. every single one had at least one synchro monster on the field. "they have no idea the damage they are doing to the world." Placido thought as he arrived at his duel's location. as he took his duel stance he pulled his Infinity sword out raised it up to the sky "Z-one Guide my hands" he said. as the sword split into 2 halves and formed a duel disk with a glowing energy field as card zones. with his duel disk ready and his deck shuffled he waited for his opponent to show up.

Layla ran out to the battlefield, about a full minute and a half after Placido. She was blushing furiously, but didn't hesitate to lift up her duel disk. It was a custom version of the standard one issued by the Kaiba Corporation. It was black with gold designs, and a ring of hieroglyphs around the center hub.
She grinned as she faced her opponent over the battlefield. "Let's duel, shall we?"
As she drew her opening hand, she grinned again. It seemed to be a thing of hers.
"I cast the Field Spell, Necrovalley!" she cried, holding said card aloft. The holographic battlefield was transformed into a rocky, sandy desert wasteland. Occasionally a floating rune would glide through the arena.
"This reminds me so much of my home, you know. Empty, peaceful, but on a hair trigger." She then played another card. "I cast Solidarity! Whenever I have only one type of monster in my graveyard, their will give their brethren 800 attack points!"
"I then call my Gravekeeper's Descendant to the battlefield. He hungers for retribution, and is not afraid to slay his own allies to get it. Thanks to his affinity with the latent magics of the Valley of the Dead, he gains 500 attack and defense points, putting him at a solid 2000 and 1700."
She looked closely at her opponent. "You don't seem like a very traditional boy, with all that techno," she said, scratching her chin thoughtfully. "Too bad! There are some rituals that are worth remembering. You see, the tombkeepers of Egypt often called for a tribute to the Pharaoh. I'm calling one now, but this Royal Tribute causes all of the monsters in our hands to perish."
A single card went from her hand to the Graveyard. "His fallen comrade lends his strength to the descendent, increasing his power!"
"I then set a card face down and end my turn. Let's see what your fancy gizmos do now!"

Placido Eyed his opponent with a glint of disdain. "I will allow you to make the first move.." he said with a chuckle "pathetic human show me what your capable of. for your sake I hope you don't use those atrocious Synchro Monsters" he said under his breath.
Placido was at first surprised by his opponent's apparent Egypt like looks and speech. "your nothing like the other people here" he said as he watched her cast Necrovalley and summon her monster. then she cast the spell Royal Tribute. Placido looked at his hand he had one monster in it. it disappeared to the graveyard. "luckily that wasn't one of my real meklords" he said looking at the field. "a well exicuted turn. you have elimiated the monster from my hand activated a field spell and have a large monster on the field. impressive." he said with a slight nod "ready to see what my Techno gadget can do" he said pulling a card from his deck "perfect he said"
"I summon Wise Core In attack mode" Placido said as an egg shaped machine appeared on his field and began to open slowly partially "this monster once per turn can't be destroyed by battle." he said pointing at his monster that had 0 attack and 0 defense points "I set 3 cards facedown and end my turn" he said with a smirk

"I cast Terraforming, adding a Necrovalley to my hand! I then activate Rite of Spirit to brig back my tributed keeper, and attack Wise Core with both!"

"your attack will cost you" Placido said "reverse card open. Book of Moon" he said as the quick play spell turned over "it allows me to set one monster on the field in facedown Defense mode. I target your Gravekeeper's recruiter." he said as the spell forced her monster into facedown Defense mode. Placido grinned "do you still wish to attack me with your other monster?" he asked as he looked at the gravekeeper's descendant

"very well then" Placido said as he prepared to take his turn "I draw" he said as he pulled another card into his hand. "I summon the monster. Meklord Army of Wisel in attack mode" as a smaller version of Machine Emperor Wisel appeared on his field. "right now it doesn't have an effect since its the only meklord on my field, but it still has 1800 attack. since your facedown recruiter has 2000 defense and your and your Descendant has more attack I will end my turn"

Layla stared at his monster. Why would he summon something weaker...?
No matter. She drew her card, frowned briefly and placed it on her duel disk. "I flip summon my Recruiter, and order my descendant to sacrifice him!" The black robed man pulled out an obsidian dagger, calmly walked over to his ally, and plunged it through his heart. A black cloud was left, and it swarmed over to the Army of Wisel, consuming it in shadows.
Another card popped into her hand as the Recruiter died. "I tribute my descendant to summon the Gravekeeper's Chief, and he uses his necromancy to bring the descendant right back! I then attack your Wise Core with both!"
[Gravekeeper's Chief ATK 3200 DEF 1700, Gravekeeper's Descendant ATK 2800 DEF 1700. Two cards in hand, no facedowns, Necrovalley and Solidarity on field giving all Gravekeeper's spellcasters +1300 ATK and +500 DEF. Chief attacks first.]

Placido's Army of Wisel Card was destroyed and sent to the graveyard then the gravekeeper's chief appeared standing next to his descendant "your Chief's attack triggers one of my facedown's" Placido said laughing "reverse card open Twin Vortex. this trap is activated when you declare an attack. I destroy one monster on my field as well as one on your field." He said with a laugh "My Wise Core and your Gravekeeper's Chief are now destroyed!" he said as a vortex of fire consumed both monsters "when Wise Core is destroyed by card effect all monsters on my field are destroyed and I can Special Summon my Machine Emperor from my hand, deck, or graveyard. all the required pieces are in my deck so your field spell has no effect" he said as 5 floating body parts appeared on his field Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity, Wisel top, Wisel Guard, Wisel Attack, and Wisel Carrier" as soon as they appeared on his field they began to combine into 1 monster like the pieces of a puzzle. "My Machine Emperor gains attack equal to all of its pieces that currently reside on my field. making his attack 2,500.however only the main body part can declare an attack" he said as the Machine emperor stood tall on his field. Placido's eye patch on his left eye began to glow red just like the head of Wisel. "the future of Duel monsters is now! enjoy a small glimpse into the future and despair at its outcome" he said waiting to see if the other monster his opponent had on the field would declare an attack

Placido grew angry "doubtful. the past know's nothing of the fear,anger,regret. that the future knows. the death and destruction, the hopeless feelings of dispair felt. when a world falls to its knees and crumbles underneath its own weight. the past. the people of the past and present will never know the feelings I have felt. I will make sure of it one way or another" Placido said bitterly. Placido watches as she instructed her monster to attack Wisel. "I activate the effect of Wisel Guard. when you declare an attack against my monster I can change the attack target to Wisel Guard" he said as the gravekeeper's attack was redirected to Wisel Guard. the arm of Wisel was destroyed but the machine Emperor itself stood resolute.

"its my turn" Placido said as he drew a card "even though Wisel is missing an arm its attack remains at 2500." he said as he studied the 2 cards in his hand "I activate the spell card Mystical space typhoon it allows me to destroy 1 spell or trap card on the field. and I target your continuous magic card Solidarity." he said as a large cyclone appeared from the card and destroyed her spell "with that card gone your descendant's attack drops back down to 2000. easy pickings for Wisel." he said "Go Wisel Infinity. Infinite strike" he said as the one armed Machine Emperor began its attack

Placido viewed the field "1 monster facedown. obviously she can't stand up the force of my Machine Emperor." he thought "I draw" he pulled a card from his deck into his hand. "I activate the continuous magic card Card Trader, it allows me once per turn to send 1 card from my hand to my deck in order to draw a new card. I send the Wise Core I just drew back into my deck in order to draw again" Placido said as his deck shuffled and he drew a new card. "that will work" Placido said "I set the card I just drew facedown. and Now Wisel Infinity Attack Her facedown monster" Placido said outstretching his arm toward her field

The monster card flipped face-up to reveal a thin man in a dark-colored robe. However, runes began to swirl around him, and they protected him from the attack.
"Due to my Gravekeeper's Spy's effect, I can Special Summon one Gravekeeper's monster with a certain strength from my deck, and I choose another descendent in defense position!"
The black robed man appeared, grinning deviously.
Layla smirked. "Still your turn."

She smiled as the shadowy cloud engulfed the mechanism.
"I then attack the Machine Emperor with my descendant!"

Placido grunted as another piece of his machine emperor fell away leaving only 3 pieces left. its attack reduced to a paltry 1300 now. "your attack triggers one of my traps" he said "Reverse card open Holy Barrier-Mirror force. all attack position monsters on your side of the field are now destroyed!" Placido said as the light barrier began to push back toward her descendant

"with pleasure" Placido glared "I draw" he pulled a card from his deck into his hand. "I activate Card trader and send my wisel top back into my deck to draw a new card" he said as he put the card back into his deck and drew again. "excellent. Z-one has granted me the card I need." Placido said as he raised the card toward the sky "I summon Wisel Attack 3 to the field" Placido said as the new arm appeared on the field and attached itself to the Machine Emperor "now that I have Wisel Attack 3 on the field my Machine Emperors attack rises to 2900. and Wisel attack 3 grants its Piercing" Placido laughed "go Wisel Infinity Attack her Gravekeeper's spy. show no mercy!" he said as the great Machine prepared to attack the spy.
