Rin arrived at the arena a little ahead of schedule, mainly to calm her nerves. While she is confident in her dueling skills, not getting stage fright was another thing all together. Taking a few deep breaths to calm herself down, she reached for her deck and did one final check-up to see if everything is in working order. Satisfied that everything is in order, she pulled out her Lady in Wight card, smiled and said softly to herself, "We can do this right? Of course we can. Let's show the world the power of the Wights." Although now that she is calm, she realized that she forgot to check who in the world her opponent is. Sighing softly to herself, she thought, 'A surprise isn't really a bad thing, I guess... but it's still silly to forget to check who I am up against.'

Entering the arena on schedule, Reimi saw her opponent already there and waiting for her. Having many eyes on her, Reimi knew that there was no turning back now. She had to go through with this, even if she was second-guessing herself. Putting her duel disk on and inserting her deck in its respective slot, Reimi was as ready as she could ever be. Well, this is it. Time to find out if all those late night training session was worth it.

Rin nodded towards her opponent as a greeting, and readied her duel disk to start her turn. Glancing at the cards that she has drawn, she thought to herself, 'This is either going to go spectacularly or horribly... let's go for broke.' Firstly, she silently activated the spell, Terraforming, and got a Venom Swamp from her deck after showing it to her opponent. She promptly activated said field spell and watched as the area turn into the swamp. Then she activated the spell, Stumbling, followed by Normal Summoning 'The Lady in Wight'. The zombie monster promptly shifted into Defense Position due to the effect of Stumbling. Afterwards, she looked towards her opponent and said, "Turn end."

Readying her duel disk, Reimi drew her opening hand. Looking at the opening play her opponent did, it created a solid defense and with her monster starting with no attack points, it got around Venom Swamp's effect. Reimi then looked at her opening hand. She knew that if she could get certain cards, her victory would be assured, but that would take a while and it might not even come. Damn, off to a bad start already. she thought, trying to decide what to do with her hand. "I'll set a monster as well as two facedowns. That's it for me."

Looking at her opponent's move, it's a pretty standard one. Not to mention that Rin still has no idea what she is up against. After looking at the card that she has just drawn, she immediately played it, Pot of Duality. The 3 cards that were revealed are: Mirror Force, King of the Skull Servants, and Venom Serpent. As she saw that, she whispered quietly to herself, "Tough choice..." and eventually settled on the trap card. After that, she simply set 1 card in the M/T Zone and summoned Pumprincess the Princess of Ghosts. Thanks to Lady in Wight, the princess was unaffected by Stumbling. As the overly adorable pumpkin monster appeared on the field, she saw that her opponent has no response. Seeing as attacking with a 900 ATK monster is just reckless, Rin opted to end her turn.

Drawing her next card, it seemed Reimi's misfortune had ended and she was grateful for that. "I'm activating the spell card Terraforming. Since you activated it already, I don't need to explain what it does. I'm selecting Geartown as my target." Reimi showed her opponent the field spell of her choice. "Next, I'm activating my Geartown, which will change the scenery here. Thanks to Geartown, all Ancient Gear monsters can be summoned with one less tribute, so I'm summoning Ancient Gear Beast." When summoned, it went to defense mode, due to Stumbling. Reimi knew she would have to find a way around it or destroy it soon, if possible. "I end my turn."

'Ah, Ancient Gear, grabbing that Mirror Force doesn't seem to be the best idea now...' Rin thought as she saw her opponent's monster. She shrugged it off though, but the over-riding of her field spell means that she has to kick it to high gear if she were to last. As with her last turn, she immediately activated her newly drawn card, Veil of Darkness. While not exactly what she needed at the moment, it does help, provided that she get lucky with her next couple of draws. As there is nothing that she can do at the moment, she just set 1 monster and changed her pumpkin to defense position before motioning that her turn has ended.

Drawing her next card, Reimi took one look at it and her hopes were shot down. I'll save this for later in case I find myself in an undesirable position. Time to go on the offensive. "I switch my Ancient Gear Beast to attack mode and I'll have him attack your Pumprincess and he'll negate her effect if she has one as well as prevent you from activating that facedown of yours." Seeing her loyal companion win that battle, she was happy, but Reimi still saw it on the field, apparently undamaged. Still, she signaled the end of her turn.

Rin let out a sigh of relief as her Pumprincess was protected by Lady in Wight. Smiling gratefully to her ace monster, she said quietly, "Thanks." Although, drawing her next card, she looked rather apologetic as she revealed that she just drew Wightmare. Normally, she would have kept him in her hand, but desperate times calls for desperate measures as she sent Wightmare to the Graveyard to draw a card, only to reveal it as another Pumprincess. Rin then sent the new monster to the Graveyard to draw another card, keeping this one this time. Looking at her opponent, she said, "Terraforming, yet again." Of course, the field spell she is getting is another Venom Swamp, which she promptly activates, replacing the current field. As Geartown is destroyed, her opponent Special Summoned Ancient Gear Gadjiltron Dragon, which got promptly set to defense position thanks to Stumbling. After flip summoning her face-down monster, Venom Serpent, and attaching a Venom Counter to Gadjiltron Dragon, she ended her turn. As she did though, Venom Swamp applied a Venom Counter to both her opponent's face-up monsters.

With her dragon already down 1000 points, it couldn't take down that lady in wight. That Stumbling was Reimi's problem and she had to get rid of it and fast if she wanted to do damage. Drawing her card, Reimi's facial expression was unchanged, trying to keep her opponent in the dark about her thoughts on what she should do. With her draw, she now had options available to her. If that's the way it has to be, so be it. "I activate Mystical Space Typhoon and I'll destroy Stumbling!" When activated, a tornado came out and blew away Stumbling, leaving Reimi with more options. "Next, I'll send Ancient Gear Gadjiltron Dragon and Ancient Gear Beast to the graveyard as sacrifices for Ancient Gear Golem!" As soon as she placed the card on her duel disk, she had a tall, menacing golem behind her, backing her up along with two facedowns that had been there since the beginning. "Ancient Gear Golem, let's do some damage. Attack Venom Serpent!" The gears started to turn and a couple of seconds after, Reimi's golem punched the serpent, causing damage with its effect. "Through it's special ability, my monster deals damage equal to the differencebetween its attack points and your monster's defense points." After the attack, Reimi signaled the end of her turn, feeling confident now.

Rin shielded herself from the piercing attack from Ancient Gear Golem as it destroyed her Venom Serpent. 2200 points of damage hurts, badly. Getting her Stumbling destroyed doesn't help matters any either. Still, her opponent only has one monster, plus Venom Swamp is active, which means that she can probably buy some time even if she didn't draw into anything. As she drew her next card, she against revealed it to be Skull Servant and used that to activate Veil of Darkness. Rin then immediately activated her newly drawn card, Heart of Clear Water, and equipped that to The Lady in Wight. Since she still can't do anything, she sighed and stated, "Turn end." As she said that, a 2nd Venom Counter is placed on Ancient Gear Golem, which drops its ATK to 2000.

With the lead, Reimi was determined to keep it that way as she drew her next card. Knowing her golem had 2 turns left, she decided to make full use out of it before it got destroyed. "Ancient Gear Golem, attack Pumprincess." She knew it wouldn't get destroyed, but damage would still be applied. Reimi wanted to finish big, but to do that, she needed the right cards and she didn't have all of them, however, it was entirely possible she may not need them at all. Signaling the end of her turn, she wondered what her opponent would do next.

Yet another piercing damage attack, but at least it's the last time that her opponent's monster can do that. After all, once she ends, the Golem will be left at 1000 attack points. Drawing her next card though, Rin smiled as her attacker has finally shown up. Since her excitement was getting to her a bit, she said in a louder voice than previously, "I summon King of the Skull Servants." The robed skeleton then appeared with a modest 2000 ATK. It's not that powerful... yet, but with Veil of Darkness fueling it, it will turn into a powerhouse before long. "Now, attack Ancient Gearm Golem." The zombie monster moved in to strike at the giant machine, and causing 500 points of damage in the process. With that, she declared, "End turn."

That Venom Swamp was getting on her nerves, but if she could the right cards, it would all be over. Drawing her card, Reimi placed it in her hand, not willing to use it unless she needed to. I guess I can just end my turn since I still have lines of defense, but if I can't draw something good, I'm as good as gone. "I set a card facedown and end my turn."

Rin drew her next card, and used the effect of Veil of Darkness again. Sending a Venom Serpent to the Graveyard this time, she drew her next card, which was yet another Stumbling. Of course, she proceeded to activate it again, since it IS one of her core defensive cards. Deciding that there is nothing to do other than to attack, she declared an attack on her opponent's face-down card... only to be met face-first with Magic Cylinder. Luckily, the lady prevents her king from being affected by the effects of spell and traps, so the attack still goes through, and it destroyed Ancient Gear Knight. Satisfied, she ended her turn.

Seeing another Stumbling, Reimi guessed that she would need a few more turns to win. She was running out of defenses and once those were gone, she wouldn't be able to protect herself. She drew, hoping to get something that would help her. Getting not what she wanted, but could use, Reimi let out a breath of relief. "I activate my Geartown field spell and next, I summon Ancient Gear Beast." Reimi was having a fun time with this, but she felt like it was time to end it next turn. "Now, I reveal one of my facedowns! Spirits Fusion! By paying 1000 Life Points, I remove fusion-material monsters listed on a fusion monster and summon it. From my graveyard, I remove Ancient Gear Golem, Gadjiltron Dragon, and the other Ancient Gear Beast to summon Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem!" With three monsters providing defense along with one more facedown, it was only a matter of time before her victory was secured. "Unfortunately, I have to wait due to Stumbling. You're up. Make it count."

To be honest, Rin was pleasantly surprised by her opponent's move. A rather powerful fusion monster and her field spell gone at the same time isn't making her life easy. Now, she has approximately two turns to turn it around, otherwise, this is already over. Sending Wightmare to the graveyard with veil again, she drew into yet another Venom Serpent, which she sent to the Graveyard again to draw into Venom Swamp. Same thing occurred as last time, as the field got replaced, followed by the summoning of that Ancient Gear Dragon thing. With her king boosted to 3000 ATK, she declared an attack on the Ancient Gear Beast before ending her turn. The field spell then added 1 Venom Counter to both her opponent's face-up monsters, although it's probably too little too late at this point.

Seeing that King grow made Reimi a bit nervous, combined with Venom Swamp and it could pose a serious threat. "Alright, my turn. I activate the spell known as Trade In. I discard a level 8 monster, such as my Ancient Gear Golem and I get to draw 2 more cards from my deck. I'll set them both facedown, switch Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem to attack mode and have him attack Pumprincess." Just like Ancient Gear Golem before it, it used the same attack animation, dealing piercing damage to her opponent. "It does piercing damage too. Isn't that great? I end my turn."

Another piercing damage attack, plus this one allows her opponent to summon yet another piercer if destroyed. Rin knows that she is going to need a bit of luck in order to survive the next turn. First thing is that she needs her Venom Swamp to remain active on the field. Second is for her opponent to not have any response to what she is about to do. Lastly, draw into something that could boost her king. She pondered for a moment as to whether to concede or not, but decided against it. The first and last condition are both slightly in her favour, after all. so might as well see it through. Looking nervous, she drew her next card and revealed it to her opponent, another King of the Skull Servants. She then sent it to the graveyard and drew another card from Veil of Darkness which revealed itself to be Wight Knight. Sending yet another to the graveyard to draw another card, Rin feels slightly relieved that her monster was boosted by 2000 ATK in one turn. Still not enough, but King of the Skull Servants is looking more and more formidable. With that, she declared an attack from her King of the Skull Servants to Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem. Whether it goes through or not, since she cannot do much else, she will pass the turn to her opponent.

Losing some points, Reimi was still glad that she got another monster out of losing her best monster, however, her Ancient Gear Golem only had 2500 attack points, not enough to end the duel. Drawing her card, Reimi thought of the only way to win now. I hope this works. she thought. If not, then I lose. This is the final turn and if it doesn't work, at least I'll lose knowing I tried my best and went out with a bang. "First, I'll switch my Ancieny Gear Golem to attack mode. Next, I activate the spell known as Limiter Removal. It doubles the attack of all my machine type monsters and at the end phase, all monsters affected by this spell are destroyed, but I don't think we'll see that happening. Now, Ancient Gear Golem, attack Pumprincess and end this duel! Heavy Mechanized Melee!"
(OOC: I think that's it.)

Well, in a sense, Rin felt relieved that the duel has ended. Now that she has been on the stage once, she knows what to expect and the anxiety should lessen the next time. Bowing slightly to her opponent, she said, "Thanks for the match." On the whole, she is pretty happy with her performance despite the loss, now it's time to analyze the match and see if she can make any changes for next time.
