This place was an eye sore...
No matter the day or night, this place was a continuous reminder of where the pieces of broken dreams and shattered memories had remained. His big blue eyes could hold the deepest of relatable feelings as his eyes would go from the cracked concrete of the sidewalks. The pavement was soaked with many stains that darkened the hue of once was bright gray pavement that was fresh in an unconceivable time period. The stench from the streets had been riddled with familiar scents: all of them not too pleasant whether it was an aroma that spoke of a struggle or the human fluids that were let out for whatever reason he did not want to know!
This place reeked of unsanitary.
“Uh...sir?”
His eyes opened fully and life returned to his pale skinned body. The sadness and depressing expression turned into something fierce under a curtain of violet bangs that did not even come close to hiding the rage in his piercing gaze. His eyes went to a trio of individuals that were wearing bright white clothing, each branded with a teal badge on the right breast. “Neo” it said with a dash that placed emphasis on an enlarged “U” like his own that remained on his right shoulder of his bright red shirt.
“What is it now?!” The violet haired boy asked. His tone filled with annoyance, “I thought you hard you order! What do you want?”
“Well, it’s just there’s not much for us to do here. We checked the health of almost everyone, the rest are...”
“MIA...” he said this rubbing the right side of his neck with his right hand, “That’s been happening a lot lately.”
Where the trio of individuals were shocked, looking at each other in bewilderment, Xenneth was not. He had been outside of Neo Domino lately, dealing with the healing and caretaking of some of these commoners in Satellite’s area. Some of them were nice, very grateful to see him. It was that very reason he was called the “Jinsei” of Satellite and it spread to Neo Domino letting them know that he was a friend to the people, but the scum to those who just wanted this pile of trash that evolved into a thriving community to simply die.
To hell if he would let them have their way!
He only cared about the people, and even if his tone did not show it, the disturbing amount of disappearing individuals was bothering him. Sure, it was normal for some to go into hiding if they committed a crime, but an outright disappearance that not even associates knew their whereabouts? It was uncanny! Besides, no one was more resourceful than Xenneth and him able to get a hold of information. He was good with working his way with people!
However, they had just vanished.
“Fine,” he simply added, “You’re dismissed. Head back to Neo Domino and file your reports on those who received Medical Attention and those were noted missing. Especially those who are missing! I want those reports sorted on my desk when I get back.” Xenneth, turning on his heel had begun to walk away from his group and to his own Vespa scooter that was distant from others. He had begun to straddle his body across the small vehicle. A young woman with chestnut hair, raveled in a ponytail had approached slowly as he begun to hunch his body. Her hands were drawn center to her chest endearingly.
The boy pursed his lips with a frown as he rolled his eyes.
“If you begin to ask something cliché like, ‘are you going to be okay?’ you can add your letter of resignation when your reports when I get back. I’m not a kid!”
Almost instantly, the young woman had looked down ashamed. She nodded her head, and with the rest of the trio, she had mounted her small vehicle, started the engines, and it did not take long for them to be within ear shot as they rode off, leaving Xenneth alone...just like he liked it. If there was anything more he hated than being treated like a kid or bullies, it was grouping when he just wanted to be alone.
“This place is getting weird,” he thought to himself, “Vanishing people, vanishing drawings on the ground that look like kindergarten writing? Why can’t things just be...simple?”
A heartfelt wish as he sat in silence on his D-Wheel. Him removing his hat and placing his helmet on his head was a slow process as he mult-tasked with thoughts about a desired life and the actual reality that weighed on him. Many warrant warnings told him to check on his sister across Neo Domino’s Aristocratic complex, and his resentment of THAT man made him make excuses to work overtime and bury himself in paper work.
Why could things just ever be...simple?
